Private Pregnancy Course

Knowledge is power, it is sometimes said. As far as I’m concerned, that also applies to your birth. If you know what your options are, what the pros and cons are of the choices you can/should make, then you are more in control. I will come to you for the pregnancy course. In the peace of your familiar environment I have all the time to provide you with the necessary information, tools and techniques. We go through the most important aspects of childbirth. I tell you about the options for home and hospital births, the physiology, which processes take place in your body, (natural) pain relief and the important moments just after birth. Much attention is also paid to the role of the partner in the delivery; we involve these in the process by learning massage techniques and other tips/tricks. Important topics such as ‘informed consent’ and making a wish/birth plan are also discussed in detail.

Would you like to take a course in a group? The Confident Birth Course with Birth in Holland might be your cup of tea. I teach this course alternately with another doula and/or midwife.

Baby Massage Course

A moment together with your baby, relaxed and connected. You can start with baby massage from about 6 weeks. As a certified Shantala Baby Massage teacher, I teach you the right techniques, body language, contraindications and how to create a relaxed setting.

Baby massage can help with intestinal cramps, teething, constipation, sleep problems, growing pains, crying babies, colds and overstretching.

€140 for 2 sessions (1-1.5 hours per session)

Consultation

I am there for you during this exciting, intensive time. Together we will look at what you need. If you don’t want full doula support, but you do feel like talking to someone about your fears, wishes or upcoming decisions, then you can choose a consultation. This is very helpful for:

  • Coaching
  • Help in shaping your birth wishes
  • Breech baby / Moxa therapy (from 34 weeks of pregnancy)
  • Long pregnancy / ‘Over due’ (from 41 weeks of pregnancy)
  • Broken membranes without contractions
  • Processing of previous birth experience
  • A listening ear, with experience and knowledge
  • Baby carrying consultation, I bring different baby carriers so that you can experience what suits you.

€65 per hr

Rental of birthing pool

Relaxation, space to move, natural pain relief and a soft landing for your child; that is what a water birth does for you. I will make sure that you have the bath at home before the 37th week of your pregnancy (provided you reserve it in time). After the birth, I will come and collect it within 1 week*.

You will receive from me:

  • Birthpool in a Box – 2-person Eco Pro
    External dimensions: 193 x 165 x 76cm
    Internal dimensions: 142 x 114 x 69cm
  • A pump, with which you can both inflate and deflate the bath
  • A set with various couplings (incl. Quooker)
  • Hygiene package** consisting of:
    Inner cover; Submersible pump 1500l/h (empties the bath in about 30 minutes!); Scoop net; Floor protection mat; Anti-slip mat; Thermometer; 1 pair of long gynaecological gloves; Non-toxic water hose 10 metres; Clear instructions.

You must throw away all used items from the hygiene package after the birth. The bath and the pump are returned to me (clean!). After each rental period, I clean the bath completely and check it for any damage.

Cost
If you are a doula client you only pay for the hygienic package, the use of the birthpool is included at no charge
€179 including hygiene package for non-doula clients

* Delivery and collection of the package is included within 10 km of Naaldwijk.
** If you have not used the bath and the hygienic package is still closed, I will reimburse you 30 euros.

Rental of baby carriers

When our eldest daughter was a few weeks old, I booked an appointment with a baby carrier consultant. A whole new world opened up for me; your baby or child close to you and yet your hands free. My collection is now, four children and many hours of carrying later, quite large and my baby carriers are regularly used by friends, acquaintances and clients.

During our travels, all over the world, we also used baby carriers extensively; on the plane, at the airport, hiking, walking with a baby or toddler who has trouble falling asleep.

Do you not want to buy a baby carrier, do you only need it for a short time, for example for a holiday/trip or do you want to try one out? You can rent one from me!

  • Tula Free to Grow: from birth (3.2kg)
  • Tula Original: with baby insert from birth, without insert from approximately 6 months.
  • Tula Toddler: from 11 kg and 81cm
  • Ergobaby: with baby insert from birth, without insert from approximately 6 months.

Cost
From €15 per week

Please note:
All the above rates include travel costs within 10 km from Naaldwijk (for all extra km’s I charge 23 cents per km) and exclude parking costs.

Health Insurance Reimbursement
There are a number of health insurers in the Netherlands that reimburse doula counseling and/or a pregnancy course. Please contact your own health insurer for this.
